A system for identifying, searching for and locating objects (2, 3, 4), in response to a search signal, when the objects are randomly arranged in a storage space (1). The system comprises labelling devices (5) for each object and a unit (15) for remotely communicating with at least one labelling device. Each labelling device comprises an infrared signal sensor, and a logic circuit for comparing the sensed signal with a reference signal stored in a memory outputting a control signal for controlling a light source (9) once the identities of the received signal and the reference signal have been determined. The labelling devices comprise two separate power supplies, i.e. a battery for supplying power to the part of the circuit that includes the memory, the comparator and the light source (9), and at least one photovoltaic cell for supplying power to a sensor output amplification stage. |
