PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of an image quality and eliminate an offset caused by an impression means or the like by a method wherein an image holding body is moved in a negative direction by a predetermined distance before image forming is started where a positive direction is the travel direction of the image holding body and a negative direction is the reverse travel direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:An image forming device is composed of a body comprising a developer 40, a transfer material feeder, and the like and a sheet module S feeding a recording sheet 10 serving as an image holding body. A button 181 is pressed down until it abuts against a stopper 183 when an open/close cover 170 is closed, whereby a lever 184 presses a lever 185. Then, the lever 185 rotates clockwise about a shaft 186. A claw 187 integrally formed with the lever 185 releases a fixed shaft 173 provided on the open/close cover 170 to allow the open/close cover 170 to be opened. As a result, the lever 185 rotates counterclockwise about the shaft 186 by the pulling force of a pulling spring 188 to press the lever 184 up until coming to a stop at a position where the button 181 abuts against a stopper 182. |
