PURPOSE:To realize a small-size LED print head by connecting LED driver ICs by inter-chip direct wire bonding. CONSTITUTION:LED driver IC chips 22 forming an LED print head require at least 8 input-side wirings 25 for every chip. A signal line of an electric current amount as small as several microamperes out of the 8 lines is connected by inter-chip direct wire bonding 6. In this manner, a circuit for connecting the LED driver IC chips 22 to each other can be eliminated from on a printed wiring board 23. An LED print head made of a small-width printed wiring board can be obtained. Therefore, a single-side printed wiring board of a small width and a low cost can be used by connecting the signal line by the inter-chip direct wire bonding 6. Thus, an LED print head can be reduced in size and lowered in cost. |
