A reflecting telescope comprises a tube (10) open at one end, a primary concave reflecting mirror (11) mounted in the tube and arranged to be directed towards the object to be observed, a secondary reflecting mirror (12) mounted in front the primary mirror (11) on the axis of the tube and a negative lens (16) mounted on the axis of the tube between the mirrors (11, 12). The secondary mirror (12) is angled to reflect light which is reflected by the primary mirror through the negative lens (16) into an eyepiece (20) which projects radially from the tube (10), the eyepiece comprising a positive lens (15) and an ocular (14) which directs the light emerging from the tube rearwardly of the telescope. |
