MONITORING METHOD OF LEAKAGE OF EXHAUST GAS CONDUIT

PURPOSE: To detect leak of unsealable properties in an exhaust section. CONSTITUTION: Amplitude of a pulsation frequency is measured by an output signal of an O2 sensor 9, and when a specified threshold amplitude is exceeded during a negative pressure phase of a group of engine characteristic curves, an error signal is formed. The pulsation frequency is separated from a λ control frequency, thereby the signal can be securely detected.
