A measuring device, such as an air mass meter for use in an internal combustion engine, comprises a temperature-sensitive resistance, mounted on a support (2) held in a holder (1), for exposure to a flowing medium. An obstacle (3) is disposed adjacent to the holder (2), upstream thereof, and is dimensioned so as to produce a gap in a layer of dirt (4) forming on the support (2).
