PARKING MECHANISM FOR CAR ASSOCIATED WITH AUTOMATIC SPEED CHANGER

PURPOSE:To prevent collision between the click of parking arm and the tooth of parking gear by providing a mechanism for locking the parking arm to release side with correspondence to the running condition of car. CONSTITUTION:Parking arm lock mechanism 4 is comprised of a fluid pressure cylinder 41 arranged below the end section of parking arm 3 and a piston 43 and a spring 44 fitted in the cylinder 41. Then pressure oil is fed through an oil path 45 provided in the speed changer case 10 to communicate between the cylinder 41 and a hydraulic controller in the valve body 16. Consequently, the piston 43 will compress the spring 44 to secure the parking arm 3 upward, thus to lock such that the click 3B will not enter between the teeth of parking gear 2.
