DILUTION-THICKENING, PERSONAL WASHING COMPOSITION

An aqueous dilution-thickening, concentrated personal washing composition comprises: a) 20-60 wt% surfactant other than soap or primary alcohol sulphate; and b) 1-20 wt% electrolyte, the ratio of electrolyte to surfactant being sufficient to form a lamellar phase. It has a viscosity which is low enough for processing, packaging and dispensing and thicken in use to a sufficiently high viscosity that does not run off the skin or hair when applied thereto.
