PURPOSE:To obtain information on a destruction mechanism of material and on the length 9f a crack from one sample piece by single operation, by combining AE measuring technology and ultrasonic flaw inspection testing technology using two AE sensors. CONSTITUTION:AE sensors 2 and 3 having receiving and transmitting functions, comprising an acoustoelectric transducer element are mounted at both ends of a sample piece 1. Then, sensors 2 and 3 are used to receive AE waves by the operation of switches 4 and 5 while a system body 6 is used as AE measuring apparatus to monitor the generation of cracking in a sample subjected to a destruction test and the specifying and location of cracking is done when it generates. Then, the switches are change over to use the sensor 2 as ultrasonic wave transmitting element and the sensor 3 as ultrasonic wave receiving element. Thus, an ultrasonic flaw inspection test is implemented to quantitatively measure cracking. |
