Method for producing a quay bank, in which relatively lightweight pile planking is put in place and the space between the pile planking and the bank is filled with cellular concrete. The pile planking serves only as formwork, and due to the particular materials properties of the cellular concrete, it is not necessary for the pile planking to be designed so as to absorb forces after the quay has been produced.
