Sheet handling system for printing machine

The printed sheets (2) are taken from the printing process by grips on an endless belt. The grips are attached to the leasing edge of each sheet and are taken along the top of the endless feed and down over an end roller (6) and dropped onto a stack. Proof sheets etc. are dropped into a bin (28) in front of the stack by a release mechanism (29) for the grips.The release mechanism has a shaped cam (29) which is pushed into the path of the grips to open the grips when the sheet has its leading edge pointing towards the taping bin. For a compact mounting the release mechanism is alongside the end roller.
