A buckle comprising a plug 10 having a base plate 10' and a pair of resilient arms 15, 15 extending forward from the base plate 10'; each arms 15 having a coupling hook 14; a socket 12 including a pair of upper and lower walls 12a, 12b to define therebetween a chamber 12f for receiving the arms 15, 15 and a pair of coupling lugs 18, 18 mounted in the chamber 12f; as inserted into the chamber 12f, the arms 15 being first compressed laterally thereof by the lugs 18, 18 against its own resiliency and, after the coupling hooks 14, 14 pass beyond the respective lugs 18, 18, expanded under its own resiliency to bring the coupling hooks 14, 14 into coupling engagement with the coupling lugs 18, 18; and a lock member 22 mounted in the chamber 12f so as to reciprocally move between a locking position and an unlocking position; the lock member 22 comprising two or first or second pairs of locking members 38, 39; 40, 41, each locking member 38, 40 in each pair being opposed to the other locking member 39, 41, respectively, in said each pair; the lock member 22 resiliently fitted in an elongated aperture 42 of the upper wall 12a, with the first and second locking members 38, 39; 40, 41 of the lock member 22 adapted to come into locking engagement with the opposed locking means 46, 46 formed in the edge of the through aperture 42 to thus selectively lock the lock member 22 in the locking position and the unlocking position.
