<p>The invention relates to a highly transparent, single-phase and biodegradable starch composition comprising from 90 to 1 parts by weight of at least one selected polyamide and from 10 to 99 parts by weight of a starch moulding material comprising from 96 to 46 parts by weight of at least one chemically modified starch and from 4 to 40 parts by weight of at least one plasticiser and preferably up to 4 parts by weight of at least one additive selected from the group consisting of urea, urea derivatives and emulsifiers. In addition, the starch composition may optionally contain up to 20 parts by weight of additives conforming with the prior art. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of the highly transparent, single-phase starch composition and in particular to the use of this starch composition for the production of thermoplastically shaped parts, in particular films, by injection moulding, extrusion, coextrusion, blow moulding, injection-compression moulding or thermoforming.</p> |
