PURPOSE:To provide a current lead protector for high temperature superconducting coil in which a burning can be prevented at the time of quenching without sacrifice of heat intrusion reducing effect due to use of high temperature superconducting member. CONSTITUTION:A main current lead 3 employing a high temperature superconducting member is connected in parallel with an auxiliary current lead 4 for commutation at the time of quenching in a cryostat 2 and the current leads 3, 4 are connected, respectively, through switches 5 with a discharge resistor 7 and an exciting power supply 8 on the outside of the cryostate 2. |
