PURPOSE:To perform the more rapid increase of a common rail pressure during a starting by closing a solenoid valve for the duration of raising of a plunger ascertained from a reference signal and opening the solenoid valve for the duration of lowering thereof ascertained in the same manner as described above. CONSTITUTION:A variable delivery amount high pressure pump 5 is operated to perform control during a starting such that a solenoid 60 is closed for the duration of raising of a plunger 23 ascertained from a reference signal and the solenoid valve 60 is opened for the duration of lowering thereof ascertained in a manner described above when, after the starting of an engine, a reference signal from a reference signal output means, such as a cylinder discriminating sensor 16 and a number of revolutions sensor 7, is outputted. In the control during a starting, since the solenoid valve 60 is left closed approximately all during raising of the plunger, maximum fuel oil can be fed with a pressure to a pressure accumulating chamber 4. Further, since the solenoid valve 60 is left opened approximately during lowering of the plunger, sufficient fuel oil can be sucked in a plunger chamber 24. This constitution causes sharp improvement of startability of an engine. |
