PURPOSE:To provide a solid electrolyte fuel cell whose overall weight reduced so that damage to interconnectors is prevented. CONSTITUTION:Cells 9 each provided with at least a solid electrolyte having a fuel electrode and an air electrode provided on the front and back thereof, respectively, are stacked one atop another with interconnectors 10 therebetween. Each of the interconnectors 10 is made from lanthanum chromite whose specific gravity is 6. Each interconnector 10 is of size 30cm by 30cm and withstand load strength is proportional to the thickness of each interconnector 10 with a withstand load per 1mm thickness assumed to be 5kg. As an example, the interconnectors will not be damaged by the load of a fuel cell provided the (n)-th interconnector as counted from top has minimum thickness (t) represented by the following formulae: (t)=0.5 [mm] (1<=(n)<=10); (t)=0.54X1.108<n-11> [mm] ((n)>=11). |
