The supply chute (12) opens out into the combustion chamber, or hearth (2) and is inclined, for gravity feed. The chute contains a nozzle (3) for air under pressure, directed towards the hearth. A drive (4) operates a shutter valve (41) in the chute, adjacent to the air nozzle. The shutter pivots on an axis (X-X') horizontal and perpendicular to the chute direction. The pivoting shutter forms a moving ski jump for the fuel and varies the air flow direction. The shutter drive cylinder (43) may regulate the pivoting amplitude (D) and speed.
