The crimping machine uses a stripping device (12) for removing the insulation from the cable end and a crimping head (16) for the cable end sleeve fitted around the stripped cable end, each pivoted to a displacement carriage (22).The stripping device, the crimping head and a retaining clamp (14) for the cable end sleeve are all supported by a common hinge plate (52) mounted on the displacement carriage, with a pivot, range of less than 90 degrees. Pref. the retaining clamp has a separation device for removing the leading cable end sleeve from a supply band (10).
