The interior ornament, which has light-weight, good workability and good strength, is prepared by (1) charging a gypsum solution containing a pulp and a gypsum into a mold, (2) solidifying and drying it, and (3) immersing the molded body into a glue solution to infiltrate into it and then re-drying. The obtained interior ornament has good deformation resistance for not using binding agent and solidification controlling agent of gypsum in the first molding process.
