PURPOSE:To prevent a lateral air bag from moving outside of a vehicle even if a window is opened when an automobile is subjected side collision. CONSTITUTION:A screen 14 is rolled up and arranged in a B pillar 12, and a pretensioner 24 is arranged in a door 22. The pretensioner 24 and the screen 14 are connected to each other by wires 26 and 40 and wires 28 and 42. Joint mechanisms 32 and 34 to connect/disconnect the wires to/from each other are arranged in a boundary part between the door 22 and the B pillar 12. Thereby, when an automobile the received sideward collision, the pretensioner 24 rolls up the wires 26 and 28 rapidly, and the screen 14 is pulled out rapidly along an indoor part of a window 30. Thereby, even if window glass is opened, since a lateral air bag is prevented from moving outdoors, so that an occupant head can be protected reliably. Since the joint mechanisms 32 and 34 are arranged, opening and closing of the door 22 can be carried out smoothly. |
