PURPOSE:To obtain aromatic non-woven fabric having a persistent aroma by blending specific hollow fibers having an aroma with polyester fibers. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide, cellulose triacetate, etc., as a base polymer is processed to form hollow fibers having pores with an average a pore diameter of <=100nm, preferably 10nm on the outer surface of the fibers and satisfying an inequality: 10<=I/d<=10000 wherein the average length I of the fibers is 5mm to 100m and the average outer diameter of the fibers is d mum. The hollow fibers are immersed in the ethanol solution of a natural perfume such as peppermint oil for approximately 8hrs and subsequently dried with air to form aromatic hollow fibers. The hollow fibers are cut into a prescribed length, homogeneously blended with polyester short fibers in an amount of 0.01-10wt.%, and subsequently processed to form a web, which is subjected to a needle punching treatment to provide the objective aromatic non-woven fabric. |
