<p>In a Hookes universal joint the end surface (7a) of the spider (3) trunnion (7) is coated with solid lubricant (11) and is in contact with a spherically arcuate projection (12) in the centre of the bearing cup (5) in the hole (4) of the fork (1). The solid lubricant (11) may be fluoride series resin. The joint may be used in a vehicle steering linkage.</p>
