PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive composition useful for energy-saving temperature label, label for the temperature control of domestic refrigerator, etc., and danger protection label by mixing and swelling a specific vinyl alcohol-vinyl ester copolymer with an organic solvent having a refractive index equal to that of the copolymer. CONSTITUTION:The composition is produced by mixing and swelling (A) a vinyl alcohol-vinyl ester copolymer having a saponification degree of 50-95mol% and expressed by formula (R is alkyl, aryl or halogenated alkyl; (m) and (n) are integers; m+n is 50-3,000) (preferably a block copolymer produced e.g. by the partial saponification, macromer reaction and grafting reaction of a vinyl ester compound) with (B) an organic solvent having a refractive index essentially equal to that of the vinyl alcohol polymer (preferably a solvent having a refractive index n<20>D of 1.47-1.63, e.g. benzene, toluene or xylene). |
