A process to mfr. airbags in which the overlay and the underlay are seamed by automatic sewing machines. To make airbags of cubic form, the two fabrics are brought together and sewn along the long sides with a continuous seam to form an endless tube, which is cut off into sections which are then cross seamed.The first roll of material (10) is drawn out, and as it is laid across the sections (23), the material is cut for the gas entrance connections, heat proofed, etc. Another roll of material (11) is drawn out and laid on top, and the two layers are brought together (12) to be double seamed by the automatic sewing machines (12) with one machine (14) at each side. This forms the square section tube with double seams (15) and can be cut off to length (16).
