Blood-regulating peptides, of the formula <IMAGE> where A is picolinic, pyroglutamic, L-pipecolinic acid or proline; B is serine, threonine, cysteine, tyrosine or glutamic or aspartic acid; C is aspartic or glutamic acid; D is aminobutyric acid, alanine, propargyl-glycine, glycine, serine, cysteine or β-alanine; X is tyrosine or lysine; n is 0 or 1; E is N(R1)-R2R3 or glycine, lysine, ornithine, tyrosine, para-aminophenylalanine or carboxamide or hydroxymethyl derivatives thereof. These compounds are useful for inhibiting the myelopoietic system.
