Oxalyl hydrazide-hydroxamic acid derivatives of the general formula I in which the substituents have the following meanings: R, R<1>, R<2> and R<3> independently of one another are hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl or optionally substituted cycloalkyl or cycloalkylmethyl, optionally substituted cycloalkenyl or cycloalkenylmethyl, optionally substituted phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylalkenyl, heteroaryl radicals or heteroarylalkyl radicals, it also being possible for R<2> and R<3> together with the nitrogen atom whose substituents they are to form a 5- or 6-membered ring, or R<2> together with R<3> represents the group in which R<4> and R<5> represent one of the radicals R, R<1>, R<2> or R<3>, or R<4> together with R<5> and the C atom whose substituents they are represents monocyclic or polycyclic cycloalkyl, or R<4> together with R<5> and the C atom whose substituents they are form a 5- or 6-membered, saturated heterocycle having O, S or -N(R<6>)- as hetero group, and fungicides containing these active substances.o
