PURPOSE:To form thin a panel with electrode terminals arranged on its peripheral edge parts in a compact size and moreover, to make it possible to mount the panel at low cost and in a highly reliable state by a method wherein flexible wiring boards are provided in the gap between the panel and a wiring board. CONSTITUTION:Electrode terminals 11 on a liquid crystal panel 1 are connected with output terminals 13 on flexible wiring boards 3, while input terminals 14 on the boards 3 are connected with electrode terminals 5 on a common wiring board 4. At this time, ICs 2 for drive are made to position on the sides, which are opposite to the board 4, of the boards 3. Then, the terminals 5 on the board 4 are overlapped with the end parts, which are situated on the opposite side to the terminals 5, of the boards 3 on the peripheral edge parts of a glass substrate 22 and the terminals 5 and the end parts are mounted to the substrate 22 with a fixing agent 6. The boards 3 are brought in a state that they are held between the substrate 22 and the board 4. Accordingly, as the panel 1 is mounted to the board 4 in such a way that it is superposed on the board 4, the area of the peripheral region of the panel 1 can be reduced by the superposed amount. Moreover, the terminals 11 on the panel 1 and the terminals 5 on the board 4 can be connected to each other in the shortest distance. |
