PURPOSE:To provide the optical connector which does not require a surplus treatment and can easily connect the cut optical fibers to connectors. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of the single fiber optical connectors 3 connected with optical waveguides 5 are mounted to a front surface 2 of the optical connector. The optical fibers 8 taken out of the terminals of optical cables 7 are cut at a suitable length and are joined to the optical waveguides 5 by a mechanical joining device 4. The connection from the optical cables 7 to the single fiber optical connectors 3 is completed by this joining and is usable as the optical connector. Since the optical fibers 8 can be cut at a suitable length, there is no need for the surplus length. |
