A paper sheet conveying device for uniformizing inclinations and widthwise positions relative to a conveying path of paper sheets being conveyed, comprising a path forming member (20) for forming a conveying path (11) wider than a paper sheet (A), and a holding roller mechanism (30, 40) for sending a paper sheet in the conveying path toward a conveying destination. The path forming member (20) has a paper sheet guide (24) that is formed along one of the sides of the conveying path (11), and is further provided with a paper sheet width aligning mechanism (50) for widthwise moving paper sheets in the conveying path toward the paper sheet guide (24) while sending them toward the conveying destination. The paper width aligning mechanism (50) has an endless belt (51) that is driven to rotate while in contact with one of the front and back sides of a paper sheet and an endless belt (52) that is driven to rotate while in contact with the other side of the front and back sides of the paper sheet.
