<p>Apparatus for the continuous monitoring of humidity of a gas or atmospheric air comprises, in combination, a fast response humidity sensor (10) and a cycling chilled mirror type sensor (12) which provide respective readings to a data processor (44). At each dewpoint determination by the cycling chilled mirror sensor (12) the calibration of the fast response sensor (10) is checked and if necessary corrected. Between dewpoint samplings by the chilled mirror sensor (12), the processor (44) provides an output, significant of humidity, which is based on the signal from the fast response sensor taking into account the most recently established calibration of the fast response sensor by reference to the chilled mirror sensor.</p> |
