The elastomeric pig body has at least two ring-like sealing faces (3-6) with a ring groove (7,8) between which is divided into chambers (11-14) by axial walls (9) spread evenly over the circumference. The outer sealing faces (3,6) are cylindrical and their width is 3 to 10 percent of the pig diameter whilst the width of the ring groove is at least 5 percent of the pig diameter. The inner sealing faces can be formed by relatively narrow ring- like sealing lips.
