<p>A non-volatile memory (30) disposed within electrically powered medical equipment is described. The non-volatile memory (30) may be programmed to store utilization limits and parametric data for the equipment. An external control module (36) may be programmed to store the utilization history for the equipment in the non-volatile memory (30) on an on-going basis. The control module (36) cmpares the utilization limits and history during each use, and disables the equipment if an utilization limit is exceeded. The control module (36) may also use the parametric data stored in the non volatile memory (30) to regulate the power supplied to the equipment.</p> |
