The cushion has a thermally conductive support surface (10) which defines the upper wall of a reservoir (11) containing a substance capable of heat storage. The reservoir is formed by two separate pockets (11A,B) whose remaining walls are formed of heat-insulating material. The two pockets are located on opposite sides of a fold line (21) formed in the support surface. The cushion may be arrange in two alternative positions: a flat position in which the support surface may transmit heat into the substance in the pockets, and a closed position in which the two sections of the support surface are folded against one another. ADVANTAGE - High heat storage capacity combined with rapid dissipation when required.
