A low-profile buckle (10) includes a flat one-piece socket member (12) molded of synthetic resin and including a top plate (23) having a resilient locking wing (27) engageable with locking feet (14) of a pair of flat legs (13) of a planar plug member (11) to interlock the plug and socket members (11, 12), and a back plate (24) having a resilient presser flap (32) adapted to be manually depressed to urge the resilient locking wing (27) to resiliently flex out of engagement with the locking feet (14) to disengage the plug and socket members (11, 12).
