In the method of lengthening the pre-oriented multifilamenta ry thread is brought through the passing galette, winded by the t hread, in the first speed to the main passing-over area and throu gh the withdrawing galette, winded by the thread, from the main p assing-over area is withdrawn in the second speed, whilst the sec ond speed is higher than the first speed, and the passing over in the main passing-over area is realized exclusively between the p assing galette and withdrawing galette. The withdrawing galette i s heated to the temperature from 160 ~C to 240 ~C, and the first and second speeds are mutually adjusted opposingly so that the se cond speed is in 70 % to 180 % higher than the first speed is sta ted.
