PURPOSE:To realize a method and a device for recording and reading radiograph information by which the energy quantity of radioactive rays absorbed by a stimulable phospher sheet is increased and the definition and the graininess of a picture is improved. CONSTITUTION:On the stimulable phospher sheet 2 inclined by an angle (theta) with respect to a vertical surface to the advancing direction of the irradiating radioactive rays, the radiograph information extended to 1/costheta times as long as an object 20 is recorded. Then, a picture signal S0 is obtained by irradiating the sheet 2 with stimulating light 34 and photoelectrically reading the radiograph information recorded on the sheet 2 along the surface of the sheet 2 by a light guide 40. A picture signal S obtained by amplifying and digitilizing the signal S0 is corrected according to the inclined angle (theta) of the sheet 2 detected by an inclined angle detection means 3 and a picture signal S' after the correction is obtained.
