<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a back light in which unevenness of luminance can be prevented from occurring and luminance can be uniformalized by providing a light absorber underneath a light transmission plate in the neighborhood of a fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION:Two cold cathode fluorescent lamps 4 are arranged adjacently to the side planes of two upper and lower sides of the light transmission plate 3, and the light absorber 1 is provided underneath the light transmission plate 3 in the neighborhood of each of the two cold cathode fluorescent lamps 4, i.e., between the light transmission plate 3 and a reflector 6. The light absorber 1 is provided by, for example, adhering a black adhesive tape, or printing it in black. In such a case, since the light of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp 4 at a terminal part in the neighborhood of the light receiving plane of the light transmission plate 3 is absorbed by the light absorber 1 and reflection by the reflector 6 can be prevented from occurring, the unevenness of luminance at the terminal part of a light emission area 7 can be suppressed, and a luminance curve can be flatened as a whole, which uniformalizes the luminance of the back light 2.</p> |
