PURPOSE:To reduce burden on a subject in diagnosis by shortening time for determining the volume of a desired ultrasonic scanning part by eliminating the need for the operation of calculating the volume of the ultrasonic scanning part during the scanning. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus has an ultrasonic probe 11, a transmitting section 12, a receiving section 13, a frame memory 14. a display section 15, a control section 16, an arithmetic section 17, an input device 18, an expansion frame memory 19 and a switching section 20. A tomographic image data of a scanning part is obtained by an ultrasonic wave. The tomographic image data is stored with the expansion frame memory 19. The tomographic image data stored is read out whenever indicated and the results of the volume are displayed in the computation of the volume of the ultrasonic canning part from the tomographic image data. |
