PURPOSE:To reduce the friction between a saddle and a head stock, by hanging them by cables, carrying a part of the weight of the head stock by right and left cables and carrying the other part of the weight of the head stock by the saddle. CONSTITUTION:Rollers 11 for hanging levers 7, 8 having their fulcra on a saddle 2 at two points, between which the center of gravity of a head stock 3 moves, are set in contact with the horizontal rolling surface of the head stock 3. Two hanger rods 12, 13 coupled to the levers 7, 8 are connected to the saddle 2 through leaf springs 14. The saddle 2 and the head stock 3 are hung together by cables 20, 21, 22. A part of the weight of the head stock 3 is carried by right and left cables 19, 20, 21. Only the other part of the weight of the head stock 3 is carried by the saddle 2. The frictional resistance between the saddle 2 and the head stock 3 is thus reduced. |
