In a hood-type annealing furnace the cooling water sprayed on the hood (2) in spray cooling passes into a collector channel (14) integrated into the bottom component (7) of the hood (2) and is subsequently discharged. Water often remains behind, however, in the collector channel (14), seeps out of it when the hood (2) is lifted off and drips on the material annealed. The novel hood (2) is to be designed in such a way that water cannot collect on the bottom component (7). To ensure that all the water runs off, the bottom component (7) has a roof-shaped run-off surface (8) sloping down to a run-off edge (9) on the side opposite the supporting surface (4). The cooling water reaching the supporting surface (4) runs off it. It then runs along a side wall (10) and falls off it. The dripping cooling water is caught in a collector channe l(14) and drained off. |
