CONTAINER WITH SWIVELLING SIDEWALLS

A container (1) has a bottom (2) and sidewalls (3 to 6) linked to the bottom (2) so as to swivel between an approximately perpendicular position with respect to the bottom (2) and a position in which they are level with the bottom (2). The sidewalls (3 to 6) are linked to the bottom by joints (8) arranged in the area of the continuous longitudinal and transverse lateral surfaces (7). Further linking members (35) are arranged between the sidewalls (3 to 6). These linking members (35) are arranged in the area of the front side surfaces which correspond to the sidewalls (3 to 6) and which delimit the longitudinal and transverse sidewalls (7) and are designed as a coupling device. This coupling device projects in the direction of a covering area (31) of the other sidewall (3 to 6) arranged at a right angle and has centering and/or locking elements. Centering and/or locking recesses are associated to the centering and/or locking elements in the covering area (31) of the other sidewall (3 to 6) and receive said centering and/or locking elements. A fixing device arranged between the sidewalls (3 to 6) and/or between the sidewalls and the bottom (2) exercises a prestressing force in the locking direction of the centering and/or locking elements.
