POLARIZED ELECTRON BEAM SOURCE

PURPOSE:To regulate density of an excited polarized electron beam. CONSTITUTION:A light amplifier of a double-hetero structure composed similarly to a DBR surface light emission laser is disposed on the back side of a polarized electron beam generating element 16 having a second semiconductor (strained GaAs) 44 to generate a polarized beam in which spin directions are deflected by incidence of a laser beam L. By changing an applied current to the light amplifier 14, the tension of the laser beam L incidental to the polarized electron beam generating element 16 is modulated.
