PURPOSE:To suppress variance in time required to finely move a head part. CONSTITUTION:The optical switch equipped with a head driving mechanism 3 which optically connects the optical fiber 1-1 on the side of the head part to a specific optical fiber 2-2 on the side of a fixed part by the driving of a rough moving mechanism 3-1 based upon position information stored in a fiber position storage part 4 and a fiber connection state measuring mechanism 5 which measures the state of the optical connection between the head-part side optical fiber 1-1 and specific fixed-part side optical fiber 2-2 by the head driving mechanism 3 is equipped with a detecting means which detects displacement information corresponding to the fine displacement of the head part 1 by the fine moving mechanism of the head driving part 3, a position information arithmetic means which generates new position information by adding the displacement information detected by the detecting means to initial position information stored in a fiber position information storage part 4, and a position information update means 6 which updates the initial position information stored in the fiber position information storage part 4 into the new position information generated by the position information arithmetic means.
