The heat exchanger has a number of water tubes (8) between input and outlet collecting tanks, the tubes being in series or parallel. Inside each tank are end covers (31, 32) with hollow spaces acting as flow chambers, made from light die-cast alloy. Some of these have ribs transverse to the direction of flow. The covers are attached to the tanks by nuts (35) on studs (30), welded to the tank inner walls. There is a sealing gasket for each cover, with cut-outs corresponding to the flow chambers. The tank outer walls are welded to the inner walls once the end covers are attached to the latter. In the side wall (5) of the casing there are openings, one for an ignition plug (20) and other for a combustion monitoring sensor (19) linked to a contoller of the central heating system. ADVANTAGE - Tank walls are unaffected by pressure variations in water circuit. |
