A reusable end fitting for a hose comprises a tubular nipple 16 for insertion into the hose bore, a radially-contractible sleeve 32 having an axially tapered outer surface and at least one slot extending longitudinally thereof, and an annular socket member 46 having an internal wedge surface 48 for engaging the sleeve and adapted to be driven axially upon the sleeve to contract the latter about the hose there being interlocking means on the nipple and sleeve for holding these parts, on assembly, against relative axial movement. As shown, the nipple 16 is provided with an annular rib 24 which is engaged within a recess 38 in the sleeve 32. In a modification, the sleeve 64 comprises two or more segments having internal ribs 68, 70 and longitudinal slots in which are engaged keys provided on the socket 80. |
