PURPOSE:To provide a ceramic material and its applied apparatus to be attached to an air pipe for guiding air into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine to reduce the emission of noxious exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:The objective ceramic material is produced by mixing zircon, kaolin, alumina, cobalt and other components at ratios of about 30:10:20:30:10 and sintering the mixture. The other components used in the above material are a mixture of feldspar, titanium, manganese and iron (II) at ratios of about 3:3:2:2. The apparatus for reducing the emission of noxious exhaust gas is an application of the above ceramic material and is composed of a 1st thick tape member 1 having several through-holes, a 2nd tape member 2 having tacky adhesive layer applied to a surface and pasted to the 1st tape member and a ceramic material 3 filled in the through-holes of the 1st tape member. The apparatus is attached to an air pipe for guiding air into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine with the tacky adhesive layer of the 2nd tape member 2. |
