<p>PURPOSE:To produce an aromatic carboxylic acid amide from an aromatic nitrile industrially and advantageously. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic nitrile of the formula Z(CN)n (Z is aromatic ring such as benzene, biphenyl, diphenyl ether, diphenyl sulfone, diphenylmethane and naphthalene; (n) is 1-3 integer) is reacted with an alcohol in the presence of an inorganic strong base to synthesize an iminoether, which is then hydrolyzed with water.</p> |
