PURPOSE:To restrain the consumption of power by each accessory component to a minimum value so as to allow exhaust emission control and power saving to be consistent with each other by controlling the start, stop and energizing time of an assist air injector, a fuel atomizing and evaporating heater and an electrically heated catalyst in accordance with a temperature at a start of an engine. CONSTITUTION:An internal combustion engine 1, an injector 6 feeds assist air into an intake-air pipe 2 by means of a motor driven pump 7. A fuel atomizing and evaporating heater 8 for atomizing injected fuel is located in an intake-air port 5. Further, an electrically heated catalyst 9 in which a catalyst carrier itself generates heat is located in an exhaust pipe 3. Meanwhile, a control unit 12 for controlling the internal combustion engine 1 is provided. The control unit 12 controls the start, stop and energizing time of the fuel atomizing and evaporating heater 8 and the electrically heated catalyst 9 in accordance with a water temperature detected by a water temperature sensor 11 upon a start of the engine. Thereby it is possible to restrain the consumption of power of each of accessory components 7 to 9 to a minimum value so as to allow power saving and satisfactory exhaust emission control to be consistent with each other. |
