PURPOSE:To simplify constitution for exhausting a fuel cell of heat carried on an exhaust oxygen containing gas and exhaust fuel gas, and recovering and utilizing combustion heat available after burning the exhaust oxygen containing gas and the exhaust fuel gas, improve heat recovery efficiency, and enable the fuel cell to be utilized as a heat source for a heat utilization facility over a wide range. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cell has a cell stack group NC comprising a plurality of stacked cells C where an oxygen electrode 2 is provided at one side of a solid electrolyte layer 1, and a fuel electrode 3 at the other side thereof. Furthermore, each cell C has an oxygen containing gas passage (s) at the side faced to the electrode 2, and a fuel gas passage (f) at the side faced to the electrode 3. A combustion section F for burning exhaust oxygen containing gas discharged from the passage (s) and exhaust fuel gas from the passage (f) is provided at a part of the periphery of the group NC, viewed from a stacking direction. Also, a heating and treating section for burning gases from the passages (s) and (f) is provided in such a way as capable of being heated with the section F. |
