Reduction of deposits on thermally treating synthetic organic wastes at 230-550 deg C, 10 mbar-450 bar, and for 0.02-40 hrs in inert gas, opt in the presence of small amts of oxygen, is claimed, in which the specific amt of meltable plastic contg heteroatoms is limited to less than 10-0 (pref 5-0) wt% in the starting product to be treated. ADVANTAGE - Esp. prevents formation of coke.
